December 2024 Updates

New features and noteworthy changes for December 2024.

In the second half of 2024, we have been busy implementing new features into Monibot. Here's a quick rundown.

Machine limit checks

Now you can specify lower and upper limits for machine resource usages (CPU, Memory, Disk, Load-Avg) and I/O metrics (Disk reads/writes, Network recv/send). If any of those numbers are out of bounds, Monibot will notify you.

Charts: Replace AVG with P50

We believe that for statistics, the 50'th percentile (P50, a.k.a. median) is generally a better number than the average (a.k.a. mean). Therefore we removed averages and replaced them with P50 values. You can see this in your website response time charts and in your gauge metric charts.

Windows support for our moni tool

Moni is our command line tool for interacting with our REST API and - even more important for most of you - for machine sampling. Machine sampling means collecting resource usage (CPU/Disk/Memory/Network) samples from your local machine and sending them to Monibot. Until now, moni supported only Linux machines. Now it supports Windows, too. You can download the latest version from our github repository https://github.com/cvilsmeier/moni.

Pricing Plans

For small projects (2 websites, 2 machines, etc.), Monibot is free to use. For larger projects, we have introduced pricing plans. You can check these out here: https://monibot.io/#pricing. For existing users, nothing will change: Either you are on the free plan or you have arranged a custom agreement with us before.

If you are missing a feature that's important to you, don't hesitate to tell us. We're always happy to hear from you and are open to your suggestions.
