Get started with website monitoring

Monibot monitors your website's availability and response times.

Create a website in Monibot

• Log into your Monibot account. If you don't have one, register now, it's free.
• In the main menu, click on the 'Websites' link. Here you'll see a 'New Website' button.
• Click the 'New Website' button and enter the website data:
  • The name, for example 'mysite.com'. You can chose any name here, it's used only for display.
  • The URL, for example 'https://www.mysite.com'. This is the URL Monibot will load.
  • A timeout value, for example '30s'. If the website takes longer than this value to return a response, Monibot will consider this website as 'down'.
• Click 'Save'. Your website is now ready and Monibot will check it regularly.

Check Website Content

Optionally, you can instruct Monibot to check the website content by selecting the 'Check Website Content' option. Monibot will then load the content of the website once, we call this process 'taking a snapshot'. From then on, at each website check, Monibot will check the response content against that snapshot, byte-for-byte, character-for-character. If the content changed, Monibot will notify you.
